We're keen to be hosting our 3rd season early season project. This is a U14 and older project (younger skiers may apply – but need approval from program director).
If you haven't committed to this project yet, there's still time. All you need to do is get your plane ticket, and meet up with TonyO at Denver International Airport by 7pm on Thursday, November 2nd. Return flight should occur NO EARLIER than 5pm on Sunday, November 5th. If you have any questions, contact TonyO (see info below).
For those of you who are in, we're glad you've committed to this project. It shows an understanding that: you can't just hope or wish to ski better - you have to commit to the time and work that will help make it happen. Sounds like work? It’s more fun when you perform better; so, look at it this way: you're working toward having more fun!
Notes on our trip -
Colorado is firing up winter - snowing even now in the mountains. A-Basin just opened this past weekend – super early! Still, there may be limited snow depth and space to ski. With that in mind, we will focus on directed free skiing, with attention to balance, edging, and technical mastery of body-positioning and pole use. Be prepared for a dominance of SL and short-medium radius GS turns - so it is advisable to bring SL skis, or a short radius GS. Hopefully, you have a pair from last season which might not hurt as bad if you ding a rock here-and-there. We will NOT ski any gates - so, if it were particularly bad conditions, you might consider bringing your twintips, too.
