Associate Program Detail

Team Afton's Associate Program is designed for ski racers who do not want to compete in USSA, but want to supplement their training opportunities and gain a competitive edge for development team and high school team competitions. Associate members train with Team Afton at dryland training (September through November) and on-snow training (December through March).

Athletes who want to sample USSA racing have a few options. They can compete in the Paul Augustine Junior Championships at Afton Alps which is open to any athlete in the U14, U12, U10, U8 or younger age groups - requires at least a Short Term membership from USSA. Another avenue to interface with USSA races is FORERUNNING, which only requires a General USSA membership - please contact us for further information. (Editorial comment: USSA Region ONE recently changed its format to register for races, adopting a pay-as-you-go method - and since removed the THREE RACE OPTION. Our statement: "Our Associates can also choose to compete in a maximum of three USSA races during the season" is no longer applicable. Our apologies).

The Associate Program does not include participation in Team Afton’s Holiday Camps.

Athletes may participate in the Associate Program for multiple years; however, tuition increases may apply.

This program is often a terrific transition between Afton Alps’ Development Team (ARC) and Team Afton’s USSA Race Programs. If you’re ready for more coaching and racing experiences, consider joining the Associate Program to make the leap from D-Team (ARC) to exciting new challenges and opportunities of the USSA Program.
